On April 13 I went to see John Jasperse Company perform in Truth,Revised Histories, Wishful Thinking and Flat Out Lies. This show was quite interesting because it's nothing that catches my eye to go see alone. Dancing is my passion so I don't mind go outside my box every now and then. well Sometimes! Sitting there I felt like I was at a show for my old dance company but the dancer grew old. Watching them I realize all the mistakes and lazy positions my dance teacher was trying to point out…

I have never gone to watch anything other than a movie in a "theater". This was different, complex, natural, and very beautiful. I sat patiently in my chair, quiet and let my eyes wander around. Fortunately enough, I got someone to cover my shift on that faithful saturday to attend a show so riveting that had my senses all in a daze. John Jasper company’s show was one of the most mysterious and eccentric shows I’ve have ever been to. Granted, I’ve had my fair share of strange shows, but this one takes the cake. The performers swirled through the stage with elaborate body movements that made focus to the intensity of their musculature, it made a great…

Back in January I attended the world premiere of Liam's choreography at eh Adriene Arsht Center. I love going to these performances and reflecting on the beauty of the entertainment. The time and effort these performs put into the show is amazing. I thought the category was ok compared to the music. The pianist was exceptionally amazing. As well as the flute player that I noticed. The skills that the dancers had were remarkable. What stood out to me the most was thei ability to create the…

I went to the John Jasperse Company dance show on saturday and it was amazing. At the beginning of the I honestly didn’t know what to expect. When the music started to play I was surprised on the type of music that was used. The performance was also funny and inspiring. Also, throughout the performance the music continued to surprise me, because it was so diverse. It was the first modern/contemporary performance that I went to, that used urban music in the dance. My favorite part of the…
